With over a century of legacy, Britannia Industries stands as a prominent and reliable food company, housing renowned brands such as Good Day, Tiger, NutriChoice, Milk Bikis, and Marie Gold. In 2010, the company established Britannia Nutrition Foundation (BNF) with a mission to combat child malnutrition. Over the past 12 years, BNF has diligently operated across various regions to address malnutrition, including anaemia.
Presently, we operate in 8 states, collaborating closely with district administrations and departments of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Health, and Education, thereby positively impacting nearly 200,000 direct beneficiaries.

BNF's interventions are executed through a comprehensive approach that operates at three distinct levels.
01 Anganwadi Centre
At the Anganwadi level, BNF attends to the needs of children aged 0 to 5, as well as pregnant and lactating women, by:
Facilitating the regularization of services, including the provision of take-home rations, essential immunizations, micronutrient supplementation, and routine growth monitoring.
Providing training and guidance to Anganwadi workers.
Enhancing the capacities of mothers, pregnant women, lactating women, and newlywed women through targeted skill-building initiatives.
02 School
Within the school environment, BNF addresses the nutritional needs of children aged 6 to 9, as well as adolescent boys and girls aged 10 to 19, by:
Ensuring the consistent supply and consumption of Iron and Folic Acid (IFA) tablets.
Enhancing and diversifying mid-day meals through the establishment of Nutrition gardens within school premises.
Distributing Iron-fortified biscuits to supplement nutritional intake.
Promoting awareness of dietary practices through a peerlearning approach.
03 Household & Community Level
BNF addresses the needs of children aged 0 to 5, pregnant and lactating women, by:
Conducting follow-up visits to pregnant and lactating women and mothers of malnourished children.
Providing counseling on healthy eating and Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) practices.
Establishing Nutrition gardens at the household level.
The program model is structured to encompass Detection, Treatment, Prevention, and Sustainability:
Screening children aged 0 to 5 years using WHO growth standards to identify malnutrition
Conducting Hemoglobin (Hb) testing for children aged 6 to 10 years and adolescents to detect anemia.
Identifying anemic pregnant women.
Identifying lactating women with low Body Mass Index (BMI).
Facilitating the referral of severely acute malnourished (SAM) children to Nutrition Rehabilitation Centers.
Providing locally sourced nutritious food supplements, including iron-fortified biscuits.
Distributing hygiene kits and water kits to promote optimal Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) practices.
Facilitating micronutrient supplementation and immunization through government programs.
Conducting regular growth monitoring and follow-up assessments.
Generating awareness about healthy dietary practices among pregnant and lactating women.
Promoting healthy eating habits among children and adolescents through peer learning initiatives in schools
Establishing nutrition gardens at schools, Anganwadi centers, and household levels to facilitate convenient and cost-free access to a diverse diet.
Raising awareness on Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) practices among mothers of malnourished children.
